For this class I am crafting Yoga flows that will prepare and guide you specifically towards achieving a handstand. We will be working on deep core and shoulder strength, wrist mobility and becoming comfortable and finding pleasure in the sensation of being upside-down.
The benefits of practising for handstands are immense and I always like to say they would be a medicine I would gladly prescribe to people as it dissolves anxiety, grows confidence, relaxes the nervous system, improves concentration and focus having a meditative effect.
This class is targeted at building strength and mobility and requires a higher degree of effort and dedication. You can definitely join if you are a BEGINNER and aim to be serious and consistent with your practice. If you don't necessarily aim to achieve a handstand you can still join for the benefits of strengthening your shoulders, back, arms and abdominals.
The class will involve lots of inversions (upside-down poses) and it is not recommended for people with:
- high blood pressure or cardiovascular problems
- brain surgery
- back/neck injury
My name is Corina Andrian and I am a certified Hatha Yoga instructor registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT), contortionist and contemporary dancer. Been moving in all sorts of styles for the past 20 years and I want to share the things that bring me great joy and pleasure. PLEASURE is a thing we lack most often in everyday life and I want to remind people of the ways in which we can access that through movement. I strongly believe that as long as we can control our bodies, we can be in control of anything in our lives.
I embed all of my previous movement experience in my Yoga flows and I particularly connected with Yoga in terms of the unbelievable ways in which it can heal us in all dimensions imaginable.
