Hello there! I am an engineering student at Newcastle University, but I have been teaching Maths and the Sciences for about 5-6 years now, starting when I was still in secondary school. I love teaching and I have lots of experience on one-to-one tutoring. I am very friendly and I try to maintain an informal and fun tutoring session, with lots of anecdotes to make sure students not only learn but also enjoy session!
My main philosophy in teaching is that students shouldn't just learn Maths or any other subject per se, but that they should also enjoy it. As much as possible, I try to take students' focus away from just getting good grades by allowing them to truly learn the concepts and to enjoy the learning process. I do this by creating a safe environment for students to fail and by celebrating with them whenever they successfully accomplish a problem. My method of teaching is to guide students through exercises and modifying them accordingly to be at pace with student's learning. I do, however, encourage students to work hard, which I believe is key to success. More than that, however, I believe that tutoring is imparting my life with another and making sure I create an impact in every student that I meet
I have been teaching for 5-6 years now, both voluntary and during the summer holidays as a paid private tutor. I have experience in both one-on-one and lecture style teaching. I have teaching experience on both primary and secondary school students, with the latter being my preference.
