I am a postgraduate Chemistry student and am looking to teach GSCE and A-level student maths and Sciences. I am an experienced tutor, having given classes both formally and informally, and am passionate about both learning and passing on my knowledge. My teaching philosophy is simple: practice makes perfect. I use simple, direct problems to teach the methods and slowly add more challenge until I reach exam-level questions to truly test the student's understanding. This is not only a successful method for extra-curricular help, but also helps the student gain confidence as they manage to work through the questions.
Although I have been giving informal lessons since before I came to university, I began tutoring as a part-time job in my third year of undergraduate. So far I have taught three students, all of which achieving marks above what they thought they could achieve alone (an A* and two A's for students predicted B's and C's).
My first lesson is 10£, every lesson after this is normal price.
I completed an undergraduate degree in Chemistry during which I kept my study of mathematics and physics going with optional modules, and am currently pursuing an MPhil in food chemistry.
