My teaching methodology will include a focus on topics which will then be revisited in the next session by a few past paper questions. And definitions which will be learned each week and revisited to compound the students understanding. I will also promote the students thinking by asking them how questions could be asked in different ways from examples they have seen. This will create a solid foundation to build upon. My focus will be refined to their exam board and how they prefer to write exam papers which will make the exams feel less astray and improve their exam technique.
I am a Chemistry student at the University of Sussex. I am from Belfast, where I took Chemistry, Physics and Maths at A-level achieving an A*, B & B respectively. Throughout my A-levels I was tutored and had a mixed experience of what worked and what didn't. My last year at school was very difficult due to my poor AS grades (C, B & E) so I understand how to manage time effectively to improve grades. And due to the position I was in at AS I can offer advice on how to write an attractive personal statement assuring offers from universities. Chemistry at A-level requires students to think in more depth than other subjects; especially in examinations where often questions are asked in a very non-regimented fashion and in turn can catch students off guard making them feel very flustered and lacking confidence in their own ability.
