In my lessons, the topics covered will be approached with optimism and curiosity, and I base my classes on either what the student(s) feel they need to work on, or points that their in-school teacher feels they need some extra help with. If at the end of a lesson, the student feels more confident and happier with a topic or idea, then in my eyes that is a success!
I have completed 2 years of my undergraduate chemistry degree, and in the past have tutored maths and chemistry at GCSE level as part of a mentor scheme as well as maths, physics and chemistry (all GCSE) privately with a 100% pass rate! I have also done 4 weeks in-classroom teaching at all levels.

Hobbies and Interests
Leicestershire Schools Music Service (LSMS)
Throughout my 11 years at LSMS, I took all eight grades on Cello, and auditioned successfully for the Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra. Through being part of this, I had the opportunity to play in the Royal Albert Hall at the Schools Proms, as well as on tour in Slovenia, Hungary, Spain and Italy. These experiences helped me build my confidence, independence and interpersonal skills.
I am currently a member of The People’s Orchestra, a community orchestra based in Birmingham part of a charity that provides musical experiences for disabled and isolated members of the community.
While studying for my degree, I have been an active member of the Chemistry society and have been the Treasurer for the past academic year (recently re-elected). As part of my role, I have overseen the budget for the annual Chemball, liaising with the venue and ensuring that all contractors were paid promptly. In addition to this, I have processed funding applications and over £1000 of charity funds, raised through events throughout the year. Being Treasurer has been a rewarding and challenging experience, something that has helped to build my transferrable skills.
