- Do you have a personal message for students?

Chemistry is a kind of subject which can be very enjoyable or daunting depending on how you approach it . If you are doing this subject by choice then you will enjoy it doesn't matter how boring the topice you are studing or how hard it is. Most cases student struggles with the subject just because the donot get clear and deep logical answers for there curious chemistry questions. Student get frustrated keep getting the answer that you don't need to know this now. Sometime knowing a bit more then you need for your level is usful to clearify your understanding about the topics you acctually need to know. Saif tutored me for the majority of my year 13 Chemistry, and as a result I transformed my AS Level Grade C to an A Level Grade A! He was clear, very supportive and great at enabling me to understand topics in such a way that it really built my confidence with Chemistry. He is a fantastic tutor.

Saif taught me Chemistry for 2 year while I was in the IB diploma programme. I used to struggle grasping concepts I learnt in school, but the lessons I had with Saif really helped me! He always provided excellent resources where I could further solidify the things he taught me. His genuine interest and knowledge of Sciences aided me in achieving my goal when I took my exams.

Saif helped me when I was sitting for my GCSE and A levels. He is great at explaining concepts. He encourages asking questions and keeps trying different ways of explaining something until you understand. He tries to build your understanding by giving you a range of questions from different sources. He’s extremely friendly, relaxed and easy to communicate with.

Mr Rahman is an excellent Chemistry tutor. He is very enthusiastic about teaching Chemistry. The lessons are always interesting and easy to follow and understand. He is patient and will make sure students fully understand the topics. He has a wide range of resources to help with the lessons and as homework. He is always willing to teach any topic students need help with.
I would definitely recommend other students come to him and get the best quality of chemistry lessons.

Since i found Mr Rahman my confidence has grown. I have gained lots more knowledge, compared to when I didn't attend. Within the short period of time that I have been here, I have managed a lot of progress and I can imagine, I will be a good chemist when I carry on..

Mr Rahman is a very good Chemistry Tutor. In September last year, while I was searching for a tutor for my daughter, I contacted Mr Rahman. He gave me a wide choice of days & time when he will be available to give the tuition. After a couple of tuitions, I realised that I made the perfect choice. Though the tuition duration is an hour and a half, he doesn't hesitate to go over this time, and makes sure that the student has understood the topic thoroughly. ....(cont)

..He is friendly, patient and welcomes all questions and always comes with the right answers. He even gives resources which are very helpful during revision. He also gives the right amount of homework.
If my daughter needs to ask about something she has just done at school, and where she needs some clarifications, Mr Rahman seems to have all answers in his head. He gives confidence to pupils, and make them know the importance of studies.

Mr Rahman is a willing and enthusiastic tutor. Whether I was struggling with a new topic or an exam question, he consistently broke down the problem from what originally seemed to be impossible, into basic and understandable concepts. I highly recommend Mr Rahman for these reasons in addition to his eagerness to answer any questions I had multiple times over until I was happy with the content!

It was a new experience and I enjoyed it so much as I was able to learn new things in such little time and in different ways . I discovered new ways of learning due to your help as well as new revision techniques. Your tutoring helped me greatly! My exam technique improved as you taught me new ways to approach questions.  Thank you very much :)

Interview with Saif

QUESTION 01 | 08
When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
Saif — I started tutoring science when I was in year 8 just to pay my school fees. My very first student was my own classmate. I have always been a self-learner and interested in the deeper understanding of Science, especially in chemistry. It was here that my interest in tutoring was planted.
QUESTION 02 | 08
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
Saif — I specialise in chemistry. My favourite topics in chemistry are Quantum Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Thermodynamics and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. My least favourite topics are Industrial Chemistry and Group Chemistry.
QUESTION 03 | 08
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Saif — Yes! My two role models are Dr Katherine Thompson from Birkbeck and my university tutor Arun Sir.
QUESTION 04 | 08
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
Saif — A good tutor has to be passionate about the subject, have a positive attitude, be able to create a link between a real life senerio and the subject they teach, and be able to explain the philosophy of the subject.
QUESTION 05 | 08
Provide a valuable anecdote or piece of advice related to your subject.
Saif — The best way to learn any subject is to teach it.
QUESTION 06 | 08
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?
Saif — Chemistry is a vast subject area with limitless applications in various applied sectors. So applying the subject knowledge exactly the way a student needs for their course is always challenging.
QUESTION 07 | 08
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
Saif — Yes. I am very much interested in Organic Synthesis. And in the future, I would like to improve on that.
QUESTION 08 | 08
What makes you a Superprof?
Saif — Because I always have an answer and an explanation for every question my student asks about my subject.
