In both Greek and Latin I am able to tutor up to GCSE level and believe that the best way to tackle the ancient languages it through the 'little and often' method, particularly with vocabulary.
At university I have written a number of first class essays, thus am able to aid essay structure and the analytical process of examining ancient evidence.
Furthermore, I am equipped with the knowledge to teach a wide range of topics from the ancient world.
In July 2018 I graduated with a First Class Degree in Classical Civilisation from the University of Warwick. I am now on a Taught Masters Course in Ancient Visual and Material culture. A part of which I am expected to write a number of essays and further my language skills with Advanced Latin, in which I have studied Vigril's Aeneid 12, Sallust's Bellum Catilinae, and Cicero's First Catilinarian.
My third year undergraduate dissertation specialised in the relationship between the Roman Emperor Augustus and Jupiter. Since coming to university I have studied the Hellenistic World (323 BC - 30 BC); Ancient Greek (Odyssey 13, Euripides' Hippolytus, Plato and Lucian); Latin (Cicero's In Verrem, Aeneid 3 and the Martyrdom of Perpetua and Felicitatis); Domestic Space in the Roman World; Transformation of Society Under Augustus and the Roman Empire from Tiberius to Hadrian. I also achieved an A at GCSE and A Level in Classical Civilisation predominantly studying the Iliad/Odyssey, 5th century Athens/Sparta and the Aeneid.
Although not academic I have also previously taught both tap and modern dance from the age of 14 to 18 which has aided in developing my teaching style alongside having 60 hours of squash coaching experience.
I have recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a first class degree in Classical Civilisation. During my time at university I have excelled in both Latin and Ancient Greek, as well as writing a number of first class essays, including a 10,000 word dissertation.
During my time at university I also undertook a funded research project on Roman coinage in the summer of 2017.
As a result of my time at university I am better equipped to aid others in both formal essay writing and the ancient languages. Due to my time teaching dance I have learned that each individual student is unique. Therefore, I adapt my teaching style, courses and methods to each individual student.
