My role is often face to face in clinical practice. However, given current circumstances with the pandemic. I am happy to do virtual emotional support during these trying times (do not posses a formal certification for this, emotional support will be provided based on my experience in practice and as a senior nurse). This may be talking through difficult cases, or general support. I have recently provided reflection sessions at work, after difficult cases, which have had positive feedback. I am happy to provide group sessions with multiple students or nurses tagging on to Zoom, MS Teams or What’s app video calls, or telephone call support. If there is any university (Bsc or diploma) support needed, I am happy to provide this too. Alternatively, any queries about clinical practice or within my speciality, is welcomed! Use the sessions in ways it will best support you and I am happy to have a conversation, to ensure the session is tailored to you, as an individual.
I am an Adult Registered Nurse by background, I have ten years experience in nursing and qualified from City University, London. My current job is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care with a HeDip in Adult Nursing, and I am Macmillan adopted. I also have a Bsc in Public Health. I am an Independent Nurse Prescriber, registered with the NMC (part one and two). Currently, also a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner at LSBU, studying an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, with a specialist interest in palliative care and acute medicine. I have not done any private tutoring or mentoring before but my role in clinical practice, involves supporting and educating nurses and junior doctors. I have taught at study days in and out of work. I am very keen to provide support to RGN nurses, students and anyone else in a NHS/Health professional setting. That may need someone to talk too, or talk through difficult cases, particularly during the pandemic. In addition to this, I am happy to provide any university support - theory or practical.
