I am a college student currently in the process of applying to university. I study chemistry, biology, Sociology and Health and Social Care. I give lessons in English and Science to children from primary school up until secondary, I also give maths lessons to children up till the age of 11. As I am studying a variety of subjects my self, not only do I contain the numerical side to life but also essay writing and structuring my work due to the mixture of subjects I study. My lesson structures vary on a scale from simplicity to being very complex for those children at the higher level. Being a young 18 year old myself, I have recently finished my GCSE and nearly my A level, which shows I am very familiar with the curriculum and the way of teaching. Teaching kids is not only about books and making notes, as I can say this from my own experience but is also about engaging with the child and using different interactive ways to teach.
I have been giving lessons for four and a half years now, and wish to continue in doing so. My students have gone from having a low confidence in themselves and their work, to achieving the top of the class and higher grades. I do not focus my whole intention on children achieving all A and A* however mainly focus on the small steps it takes in getting that. I do this through encouraging the child to do well, showing them the different ways of improvement and the variety of methods they can use, as its about them understanding the work instead focusing all on the grade. My class sizes have shown variations throughout, however I do not take more than five children a class, as my first priority is to focus equally on each child.
My rates can vary if anyone feels as though they would like an adjustment, feel free to call me anytime to discuss my charges.

Assistant: My duties included helping to prepare year 5 children for their end of year exams. I had one to one and small group sessions with them during their lesson time in order to boost them to a higher level. In addition to developing academic ability, the students were provided with guidance on how to do independent learning so they can take the learning into their own hands. I particularly enjoyed working with the individuals and seeing them develop to higher grades in their writing tasks. Overall I enjoyed working with children. I helped with organising activities for children and providing them with the extra help they needed.
2013 – 2014 Arabic school
Teacher: I worked here for 1 year and a half with children from the age of 5 – 13 years, I managed a class to myself and had to make activities for the children to follow. These activities included, lesson planning, delivering and assessment planning, class activities and games related to learning. I built a positive relationship with the parents and the children. I took control of situations with the children when they needed help and used different communication skills depending on the situation and the age group I was talking with.
July 2015 Shadowed a doctor at Royal Free Hospital
Due to my interest in medicine, I did a one week placement at Royal Free Hospital. I shadowed many doctors at the hospital in different areas, which gave me a great insight of a doctor’s daily life. This placement helped me improve my communication skills as well as my team working skills as I observed the doctors and nurses and other health care staff working collaboratively to diagnose and treat patients. I particularly noticed how doctors spent time communicating to others and how important that was, as this way they cannot treat a patient without any commutation and being co-operative.

July 2014 Volunteering at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice
At this hospice I worked at the office and had many phone calls to make to various restaurants as I was part of the fundraising team, I had to make numerous deals with the restaurant owners to send us vouchers for the hospice to use at its events. The purpose of this was to raise awareness and increase the hospice’s funds. This role required me to interact with different people face to face and over the phone and develop organisational skills, all in which I was able to manage.
