I'm a college student who studies Maths and Further Maths so I have quite a good knowledge of the subject to teach GCSE to AS-level students. I believe that the way most teachers actually teach maths is wrong - shouting/getting angry at a student does not help them learn. I'm sympathetic and understanding and will aim to tutor in the most positive way. Lessons consist of a short introduction to a topic, then some basic questions and then some harder ones to challenge you and to test whether you really have a grasp on the topic.
The only students I've tutored have been my own peers at college. One in particular failed all of their maths exams. Since I've been helping them, their grades have risen to A's and high B's and with exams on the way soon, it looks like they will achieve all A's now.
