A tutor's greatest use is as someone who can answer questions. I find this form of teaching to be natural and most effective. I also emphasise a solid grasp of the fundamentals. I will explain things clearly and then help the student to fully internalise them by encouraging them to ask questions.
I helped a fellow student last year who had been struggling for multiple nights in a row on a coursework. He was very stressed and did not know where to start trying to figure out the errors he had made. I worked through it methodically with him such that whenever I found the next problem, I worked forward from an earlier point until I could pose logically-related questions to him, which led him to meaningful insights. After guiding him with careful prompts, he had solved each problem by his own realisations.
I study "Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence" at the University of Nottingham. My first year average mark was 91%, I was the leader of my group Software Engineering project and I have just completed a summer internship at an award-winning company implementing some cutting-edge AI technology. Therefore, I have high academic achievements, leadership/people skills as well as strong industry experience. I have always enjoyed tutoring my friends at school and now at university. They appreciate my clear, straight-forward explanations which come from my own sound understanding.
