My teaching method is to explain the reason behind each theory and guide my students to the correct answer when doing practice questions. Sometimes when we remember a formula, if we only don't the formula itself without knowing the proof of the formula, it is really hard to memorize it, and not to mention use it skillfully. So I will explain to my students the reason for those theories or methods to make sure they understand them. Knowing the theories only but not how to do questions is not sufficient. I believe that for each knowledge point there are only a finite number of types of questions, and once we know those types very well, we can do questions with much higher correctness. So I will make sure my students are familiar with those types of questions, and they will accomplish well in this subject.
I am a student at King's College London and currently studying computer science major. This summer I have worked in a summer school in China as a tutor, teaching around 15 students maths and physics. In the beginning, their grades are around passing, and after the summer school, they received 80% to 90% in their first test.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my interest in empty spaces in tutoring. I am currently a student at King’s College London under Computer Science major. I have received a 790 for SAT Maths level 2 and 780 for SAT physics, also I got 6 in both higher-level maths and higher-level physics in the IB diploma program. So I believe I have the knowledge for tutoring students in Maths, Physics, and Coding (Java).
Before my college starts, I used to work in a summer school in China for 2 months, and the job is teaching middle school students maths, and back in High school, I also worked as a tutor to teach freshman maths and physics for 1 year, so I believe I have some experience in this area.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you to discuss any further details. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely, Yilin Chen
