My teaching methodology is mainly based on the Suzuki method but with an additional of Russian School elements in it. From my experience, each student is different and I always try to adjust the curriculum based on the specific student.
I have been teaching both young children (6 years old) and adults (in their 20s/30s). I welcome everyone from different backgrounds.
I started playing the violin since I was 5 and have been professionally trained since then.
I achieved Distinction in the ABRSM Grade 8 violin exam at the age of 15, and later on went on to achieve my ABRSM Diploma in Violin. I did my bachelor at the University of Rochester in Economics but I was also lucky enough to be selected to take violin class at the Eastman School of Music, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world.
I have been teaching violin part-time since I was in Hong Kong. I served as a part-time teaching faculty in the Academy of Music Northwest in Seattle for almost a year and I am comfortable teaching students from all levels and genres. This is my 5th year teaching violin and have helped close to 20 students achieve different levels in the ABRSM exam with solid scores.
