My philosophy is that everyone is good at something. If you want to pass that test, trust me, follow my instructions and I promise you will reach your goal. I have a proven track record of exam passes and nothing pleases me more than seeing my students succeed.
I am a semi-retired teacher who has taught in many countries including the UK and Ireland. I've also taught in Kuwait, Cyprus and Oman and most recently 2003-2017 in a third-level institution in the United Arab Emirates where I was teaching Computer Science to degree level.

Most Recent Job Description and Responsibilities
I began teaching at the Higher Colleges of Technology in August 2003. I left in June 2012, but went back for a holiday in April 2014 and my boss asked if I would return to do another 3-year contract! Not being ready for retirement, I jumped at the chance and worked again at HCT from April 2014 until compulsory retirement in June 2017. As this last job was contract work, I was only gone from home for 4-month periods at a time and obviously with family at home, I am completely up-to-date on the social and cultural norms of life in Northern Ireland.
During my time at the Higher Colleges, I taught databases, desktop publishing, MS Office, Web Page Design, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Build your own PC, Networking and Computer Information Processing courses.
I passed the CELTA certification (Teaching English as a foreign language to adults) in an effort to better understand the language problems faced by Arab students, in a bid to improve my teaching delivery.
I am a qualified WebCT Designer
I worked as a mentor to students on work placement in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Um Al-Quwain.
My students designed a website as part of the International News Day for schools and colleges. I took four students to London for the presentation of their prize in the House of Commons.
Co-led college trip to Tandrang in Nepal, where students donated refurbished PCs and built a network for a remote primary school.
I organized a photography competition for students three times per year in an effort to showcase their creativity and to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
I only left the UAE in June 2017 as it is a legal requirement to retire at the age of 65.
My main responsibility on my return in 2014 was to manage a team of curriculum developers as we tried to re-organize a Diploma course for our students. This has been successful to date and means that those students who would otherwise not achieve a Bachelor Degree qualification, can now graduate with an Associate Degree.
I also ran our college’s photography club. This was not only great fun, but it gave students the opportunity to showcase their talent outside of the classroom. Local wildlife photographer, Danny Gibson, was good enough to judge competition entries for me. Several of my students went on to become professional photographers – one in the capacity of personal photographer of the Sheikh of Ajman. Students were also able to use their photography and video clips on their
