About the lesson

I am a freelance Horn player in London who really enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities and helping them overcome their challenges.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I specialise in French Horn, but can teach Trumpet, Trombone and Tenor Horn as well.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a BMus (hons) from Trinity College of Music and an MMus from Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £30 per hour for all lessons. I'm happy to offer concessions on consultation lessons.

- Where do you teach?

I can teach at my home in Crouch End. I am also willing to travel to most parts of North and East London, and further afield to Barnet and Enfield.

- When are you available?

The best days are Monday to Thursday, however I am happy to try and be flexible.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I am happy to teach French Horn from beginner to advanced. Trumpet, Tenor Horn and Trombone I can teach to grade 5 standard.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall Exams.

About Ed

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have taught privately since 2008 and have worked for Haringey Music and Performing Arts Centre since 2011.

As a professional Horn player I have worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet Sinfonia and as a deputy for the band on Warhorse in the New London Theatre.

Yes.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I studied at Trinity College of Music with Martin Owen, Jeff Bryant, Steve Stirling, Mike Murray and Roger Montgomery. I then studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I learnt with Hugh Seenan, Richard Bissill, Jonathan Lipton and Andrew Clark

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

I'm a member of the Musicians Union and the Musicians Answering Service.
