About Ammar
I am a young academic who has been inspired to teach on the basis that there are far too many opportunities for learning that are missed when only thinking about textbooks. Although classroom books are key to success, there is a way of going beyond the textbook and excelling at a topic by engaging with it on a deeper level than a textbook may allow. It is about putting academia in context and thinking about why certain language is used in certain scenarios, and how this has a true impact on the individuals involved, rather than simply thinking about a rigid structure like PEE to answer questions.

My main technique for tutoring English is to unlock student potential through a discussion as opposed to sticking within defined boundaries of a textbook. The typical length of a lesson is one hour. This can vary, however, depending on the time needed to wholly complete a lesson. My experience as a tutor stems from mentoring GCSE students throughout all of sixth form, and delivering high level lectures to sixth form students on English and Politics. My lessons are often aimed at GCSE students from 14-16 years old, however, I am prepared to accept and tutor A level students.
