About the lesson

Hola, ¿Cómo estás?

Pleasure to meet you! My name is Anny,

I am a passionate tutor, I teach through practice and I always try to adapt my lessons to the needs of each student. I like to teach in an enjoyable way through dialogues, videos, class exercises on topics about daily life and general interest. I have a YouTube channel and Insta profile, where I upload videos on Spanish topics and vocabulary so my students can practice.

I like my students to feel comfortable in class and that's why I do the lessons at the pace of the student and endeavour to keep the lessons practical to avoid repetition and boredom.

With me, you can converse in Spanish and English and I will help you to improve pronunciation. At the end of each lesson I always leave homework assignments and I also share the Spanish material so you can study whenever you want.

Encourage to learn a second language with me, it will be fun!

Hope to hear from you :)

About Anny

Thank you very much for visiting my profile.

A little about myself:

I am from Medellín, Colombia. I am 26 years old and I am an Engineer. After travelling around Europe, I decided to study and become a tutor in my mother tongue. I have been a Spanish tutor online for over 2 years and it has been a lovely experience for me. I enjoy teaching Spanish because it is a way to share my language and culture and also an opportunity to meet new people around the world. Teaching teenagers or adults, I love this experience and I try to make it enjoyable for my students as well.

Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Spanish fluently because it is my native language. I was born in Medellín Colombia which is a Latin-American country where Spanish is predominantly spoken.

  • 02

Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

I would like to mention Gabriel Garcia Marquez, a Colombian writer and novelist. I really like his novels and specially his best-known work, the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, is considered one of the most representative of this literary works.

  • 03

Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

I like a phrase in Spanish that says "No hay mal que por bien no venga" the meaning of this is, no matter how bad a situation can be, there is always a reason for everything and sometimes the universe is trying to put you in the right place or you just need to learn a lesson in life to improve yourself.

  • 04

Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Spanish is spoken in every corner of the globe, in every continent you will find a country where the mean language is Spanish. This is one of the most commonly spoken languages around the world and it is very useful for travelers and business people.

  • 05

What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

I think one of the most difficult parts of this language is the verbal forms. There are too many forms and in order to speak Spanish fluently people must learn different grammar rules that sometimes can be complicated. Some verbal forms are regular and many others are irregular. This can cause considerable confusion for the students.

Definitely for any language learning process, the most effective activities are being in the context of the language and trying to practice it every day starting with listening and then slowly trying to speak it. Language exchange, applying different study techniques such a participating by listening in group discussions of the spoken language and through music, videos and movies using subtitles in original format.

  • 06

Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

In Latin-American you start studying English from a young age at school, but you only learn the basics of the language there. I have always a been very curious student and I tried to have as much interaction with the language through the music and movies. I was very happy understanding most of it, but I still wasn't confident enough to speak fluently. Later I started going to language exchange and made new friends and then I could practice with them and quickly I became much more confident. This experience showed me that it is possible to learn a language if you are determinate to.

  • 07

How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

My trip around Europe has been an incredible experience that has brought me the best memories and definitely has improved my language skills. During my journey I visited England and Scotland and there I improved my spoken English so much using it all the time and interacting with native language speakers.

  • 08

What makes you a Superprof in language?

I could say that what makes me a Superprof in language is my creativity and my skills for teaching by being patient, thoughtful and communicative. I am very social person and love to share my experiences with my students and make them feel comfortable and happy in their learning process.
