BA Hons (Keele) Music and English,
CT ABRSM; a certificate in instrumental teaching,
Dip ABRSM; a diploma in Instrumental teaching.
LRSM; an advanced diploma in instrumental teaching.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £16.00 for a half hour, and £ 26.00 for an hour. The first lesson is free, so that we can decide if we want to work together.
- Where do you teach?
I travel around Stockport, Hazel Grove, Bramhall, Cheadle, The Heatons, Disley, Whaley Bridge teaching people in their own homes.
- When are you available?
I am available from Monday to Saturday all the year round.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach pupils from beginners to grade 8 standard of all ages.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare people for piano exams grade 1 - 8 piano, and theory exams. I also prepared pupils for their GCSE and A level recitals, my pass record is 100%.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been a musician for as long as I can remember, but I have been teaching for 8 years.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an up to date DBS, which you can inspect and I can supply references on request.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I learned piano with Elfreda Griggs from the age of 7 to the age of 18. I studied music at the University of Keele under Stephen Banfield, George Pratt, and Roger Marsh. I learned piano with Penelope Roskell. I studied for the ABRSM Certificate of Teaching in 2011 and took the Diploma at the end of 2012. I then studied the LRSM diploma under Peter Noke a qualification I earned in 2014. I still study with Peter because I strongly believe in continuing professional development.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Incorporated society of musicians (ISM) which is a professional body for graduate musicians.
