My daughter Amy in Year 13 decided to pursue a Dance Qualification & so completed her A2 Geography through tutoring. Amy really benefited from David's weekly one to one tutoring. Amy also can now confidently talk about global issues and she is much more aware of what is going on in the world than she was previously. Thank you David, you have become a good friend in the 9 months you worked with Amy and we will miss your weekly visits. Amy gained a C but was inches away from a B.
David tutored my son from 9/16, and we have been more than happy with him. David was friendly and approachable and the Skype sessions (100% reliable) worked very well around my son's college hours. David was always fully prepared for the sessions and had my son completing past exam papers, which he then marked and offered detailed feedback. David helped to build Aaron's confidence for longer essay-type questions. He was always very positive and encouraging. Aaron achieved a very pleasing B.
With David's help tutoring on Skype, my son's grade C at the end of Yr 10 was transformed to an A* for his GCSE Geography in June 2017. David is my son's favourite teacher. He knows how to engage his students and help them to enjoy the subject, rather than just to improve their grades. My son Suprovo wished all his teachers were like David!
David tutored me on Skype for 4 months for WJEC Geography A2 & AS re-sit. I was struggling but with David's help my understanding & confidence developed. His wide ranging understanding of Geography gave me significant detail for Case Studies. His experience as an Examiner helped me understand how to complete questions correctly; and his ability to relate the more difficult geographical systems to the real-world also significantly improved my knowledge.
David tutored Daria, a Russian student at Taunton School, for her OCR A2 & AS Geography for 18 months. David is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and he guided her on all aspects of the subject. He is highly structured, with exam questions being set for Daria for completion and review. This helped Daria enormously as she had struggled with exam techniques, teaching her how to approach the questions to maximise marks. As a result Daria currently is a student at Reading University
David has been a wonderful tutor. He has tutored me for my A2 Geography & AS re-sits for 8 months - and this has improved my confidence massively. Without him I am certain I would have failed my A-level Geography. He was always enthusiastic about what we were learning and gave really helpful and detailed responses to the work I handed in to him as exam answers. I would certainly recommend him as a tutor.
David helped our son enormously with his understanding and application of A Level Geography. David's teaching methods were very interactive, so helping him to cement understanding and pick out relevant examples & Case Studies David also advised on exam techniques. David's understanding of the syllabus, combined with his acute knowledge of marking methods, helped to focus our son on what really counts at exam time. David really went out of his way to help us all, providing additional material.
David offered my son hard work, support and encouragement in helping him pass his Geography AS & A2 Exams. He gave Greg the enthusiasm he needed to have the confidence to believe in himself. David's approach was always very friendly, positive and professional. His passion and knowledge for the subject resulted in Greg starting to really enjoy it again and improve his grades. I have no hesitation in recommending David as a qualified professional Geography Tutor. Greg's overall B was so pleasing.
My son Alexander had done less well at AS Geography than expected. His enthusiasm for Geography fell significantly. David's tutoring did wonders for Alex in three ways: he restored Alex's interest in, and love for, Geography; he encouraged Alex and coached him skilfully in the art of essay writing; and instilled good preparation disciplines in terms of using all the information available from past papers to maximise performance. I would whole-heartedly recommend David as a Geography Tutor.
I studied the IB diploma at an International School. David provided me with tuition for ALL 3 IB Higher Geography Exams. He provided me with Case Studies; helped me practice past papers; set me unseen timed papers, which I completed under exam conditions. He then went through my answers thoroughly. Skype was really effective and efficient. The help I received from David really made a difference, allowing me to score a high Level 5 in IB Geography HL. David has done great job.
