"Tuition services catered to your needs".Having recently been through the education system, I understand what is required for examination success and have a great understanding of how people learn.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I currently teach Maths, English and Science at KS1, KS2 and KS3. At GCSE level, I teach Maths and Science (which is composed of Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and at AS/ A2 level, I teach Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I also offer discounted "CRASH COURSE" modules, for students who have left things to the last minute in each of the AS modules for Biology, Chemistry and Maths. A particular area of expertise is tutoring students for the 11+ examination for entry into grammar school.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
GCSE : A* grades in Maths, English and Science
A Level: Maths (A), Biology (A), Chemistry (A), Philosophy (A)
B.Sc (Honours), completed in one year in Medical Education; a degree associated with teaching and learning.
I am currently an MBBS student in my fourth year of studying medicine at the University of London.
- How much do you charge?
£20/ hour for pre-school education, KS1 and KS2. £25/ hour for KS3 and 11+ tuition. £30/ hour for GCSE, A Level and 11+ tuition. I travel to students' houses and can travel anywhere in London at no additional cost. However, if my journey time is greater than 40 minutes, then I would usually hold a minimum of two hour sessions, which would be at a discounted price. I can also teach in Southend on Sea and neighbouring boroughs, as this is my second home and travelling here would be at no additional cost to students. I also hold group sessions, with no more than six members in each group. If a group booking was required then I would charge half of the advertised price for each additional student (i.e if two students would like to be taught A Level Maths together then the cost would be £25 + £12.50).
- Where do you teach?
I currently travel to students' houses in all parts of London. I am currently based in the Mile End/ Stepney Green/ Whitechapel areas and so travel around East London and the City of London frequently. I am also based in Southend on Sea as this is my second home and so can travel here and to neighbouring boroughs (Rochford, Eastwood, Rayleigh, Hockley, Billericay) and as far afield as Basildon and Chelmsford.
- When are you available?
I am available Monday - Friday in the evenings (from 5pm onwards) and all day Saturdays and Sundays. During the school holidays, due to the fact that I am also a student, I am available anytime, seven days a week.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from preschool through to A Level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
The main examinations in the UK education system, GCSE's and A Levels. I also prepare students for the 11+ examination for entry into grammar schools.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have four years tutoring experience at KS1, KS2, KS3 and GCSE and three years tutoring experience at A Level. I have been tutoring students for the 11+ since 2005.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
CRB checked and cleared. This was required for my entry into medical school.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
Currently I have four GCSE students and three A Level student's, as well as four 11+ students. Previously, I have had four GCSE students for Maths, all of whom obtained A* grades at GCSE. Seven of my previous eight 11+ candidates have obtained entry into their first choice grammar school.
