Methodology
My name is Giselle, I have a 2:1 Degree in English & Social Science. I have been teaching for 20 + years in a home schooling environment and provide tuition for pupils 5 + years and above, this includes adults. I have taught and do teach all academic abilities and disabilities including young people and adults who have English as a second language. I am able to teach Primary school level, GCSE, A Level & degree level. I adapt my techniques and structure my lessons according to my students individual needs and requirements. Every students learns in a visual, auditory or kinaesthetic way which includes reflecting on what they have already acquired as knowledge throughout their lives. I consider myself yo be a very patient tutor that strives to enable every student to succeed to their full potential and beyond.
Experience
I have been teaching English for 20 + years at different levels. To date I have taught around 250 + students on a regular weekly basis. When students come to me for tuition sessions it is important for me to establish their initial academic grade or goal, I am then able to work backwards and structure a time table that is financially viable for parents and will provide students with achieving the very best results. Dependant on the starting level and the amount of time that can be put in by students I can achieve A* - C grade for both higher an foundation levels.
In previous years I have had a student come to me with an F grade and they have left with a C grade at foundation level I was working with this specific individual for 6 months with an hour weekly session and homework. I have also taken a C grade student to an A grade in 4 months with 2 hour sessions on a weekly basis plus homework.
