This enables me to create lessons plans and lesson strategies to suit the individual, helping me to deliver the essential knowledge they need to improve and succeed.

Heather's Experience

My previous experience is working with one student, who at the time was aged eleven with the condition of dyslexia. In order to support this student in his SAT tests I provided him with a course of personal tutoring lessons in general English, over the summer half term. I maintained an organised and efficient approach with weekly lessons plans, providing an array of methods to help the student learn which included: worksheets, spelling tests, story writing methods, reading, and using word association as well as visual stimulants to enhance vocabulary and interest to learn. Then assessing the student's progress with a variety of methods such as: re-testing previous difficulties, visual comparison of previous work, evaluating the student's confidence and charted statistical improvements, which resulted with improvements in his spelling, grammar and overall writing.

Writing bio
I am a motivated university student, currently studying a BA degree in Professional Writing, whilst working voluntarily as a Marketing Manager for an in-house publishing company, Hammond House. I became first published at the age of eleven and have recently furthered my publications in two short story anthologies. During 2016, I worked as a private English tutor for three months, preparing a student for his SATs for the upcoming year. I have been working as a freelance writer for three years which has provided me with experience in writing in a variety of styles, such as – screenplays, proof-reading, editing, drafted and amended CVs, PIP testimonial documents and university treatments and applications.
I would like a to gain and further my skills as a writer and a teacher, as well as gaining experience whilst completing my degree. I naturally well work using my own initiative and I am able to be well organised, write and maintain documents, and be creative as well as professional in my working practices. I am keen to start as soon as possible and you will find I am a very quick learner and able to adapt to different working environments and requirements.
