I have just completed my undergraduate degree and so am willing to teach up to A-Level standard. As someone who has recently gone through the school system I remember first hand the nerves and stress associated with revision and learning new topics, especially after the GCSE to A-Level jump.
I believe in gaining a basic understanding of the whole topic before specialising, as this helps facts to stick because of deeper level of understanding. To help support this I use mindmaps and timelines and regularly refresh previous knowledge.
I am a university graduate specialising in modern history. I have worked with young people before in a variety of different settings which enables me to adapt my approach for the individual to achieve success. This includes previously supporting the daughter of a family friend with some of her primary school studies and ranges to supporting sixth form students in thinking about their university applications.

I am a flexible tutor who believes that the student should be at the heart of every session to enable them to fully engage and benefit. Positive comments and praise are extremely important whilst any points for improvement should be fully discussed so the student learns from them.
