Over the past couple of months I have felt a stronger pull towards the small changes and how those impact the larger cogs at work in modern-day living. My understanding of diversity in modern society, as well as understanding the different needs allocated to each individual, has driven my ambition to steer systems, products and services to be more inclusive. I’m very passionate about understanding the functionality in the everyday and teasing out which pressure points disrupt or inconvenience a user’s/client’s journey, with the aim to resolving those issues with a comprehensive solution and intuitive understanding.
I’m a graduate of the School of Design at the Glasgow School of Art, specialising in Product and Service Design. The diverse teaching at the school, and my own personal interest in the design and making sectors, have given me a broad range of transferable skills, from digital design (i.e. CAD and the Creative Suite) to analogue design (i.e. model-making and sketching). These ideas were rigorously put to the test in presentations and client meetings, building a confidence in my work and value as a designer and team member.
