My approach is student-centred, I am teaching both adults (psychology, SPSS, research, statistics) and children (chess). I am patient, friendly and understanding and trying to make sure that student feels comfortable and enjoys the lesson and gains confidence in the subject. I am also organising chess tournaments for my chess students to monitor their progress and plan future curriculum.
I have 24 years experience of playing myself, I am candidate master of Latvia, having international (FIDE) rating of 2062, and English Chess Federation rating of 194, which is quite a good level. I have around 5 years experience teaching chess to primary school children and tutoring some adults back in Latvia, and I enjoyed it quite much. Since last year I have been tutoring many children and some adults around London and helped to progress them in chess and some of them gained good achievements in chess tournaments and were qualified for the next competitions.
I can teach basic concepts, moves, strategies and tactics for beginners and help to improve game technique of intermediate or advanced players, suggesting theory and ideas.
Perfect! Madara is a great teacher. My 5 years old niece has loved her chess classes with her. I totally recommend her
Excellent! Our child enjoys the learning and Madara has been very patience and kind to the child. We really like her to come.
Madara is a very experienced & highly qualified tutor who put in a lot of effort & care to guide her students to pass. Every day, she is there before the lesson starts, very reliable. I recommend her being the best psychology tutor, soon to be the best on Superprof.
