I have plenty of teaching experience in helping beginners understand concepts in multiple ways until it makes sense to them. My teaching experience has included teaching students the foundations of drumming, performance preparation, learning songs, improvising, reading drum notation, Rockschool examination preparation (Australia), teaching children and adults with autism, Aspergers, ADHD, severe anxiety, and many other individualised teaching approaches for each students’ needs
I’m Tyler, a drummer and drum teacher from Melbourne, Australia. I plan on moving to the London area in January 2020. I’ll be looking for part time work as a drum teacher while living in London for two years. I have a Bachelor of Applied music with a Distinction average. Since mid 2016 I have been teaching and playing music full-time. I studied a private studio teaching development course while at university for one year to learn more about teaching instrumental music.
With 12 years drumming experience and 8 years experience drum teaching, I've had some amazing experiences in the last few years. Some highlights over the last few years include touring Ireland for 3 weeks, two Australian tours, performing at Sydney's St Patrick's Day Festival in Hyde Park (7,000 attendees), playing with Nepalese pop-star Rohit John Chettri at Trak, Melbourne, and many many other performances in urban and regional Melbourne. In the last two years I've also spent time playing for and recording two albums with folk band The Hunter Express. I'm currently juggling several projects which include styles spanning from pop, rock, blues, funk, folk, jazz, fusion and hip-hop.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.
