My teaching method places a lot of the onus on the student - I will not spoon feed you answers, I will teach you how to answer whatever the exam board chooses to throw at you from the specification, not just what I think they might.
I have helped students since my own time at school. I worked as a reading mentor for 5 years throughout high school, teaching many students from a wide range of backgrounds. All of the students I have helped have gone on to achieve the grades they wanted.

In this role I had to assess the level of competence of the student and then select appropriate reading materials, as well as supplementary reading aids.

During my time at the Assistant Chief Executive’s Service at Brent Council I undertook a research assignment investigating how community development financial institutions (CDFIs) may be of benefit to Brent residents and businesses. I conducted research into case study examples from other local authorities who had developed partnerships with such institutions. At this time I also worked alongside the Welfare Reform team, as well as the local arm of the Department of Work and Pensions. This posting was not offered to High School students (at the time I was 15), but I managed to not only obtain the posting, but also do well in the role.
