I teach Bassoon, Music Theory, Recorder and Tin Whistle.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Master of Arts (Bassoon) and the LRAM Teaching Diploma, both from the Royal Academy of Music, and I have a Bachelor of Music (with Honours) from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30.00 per hour, but beginner and group rates are available too.
- Where do you teach?
I teach mainly in students' homes, however I also teach at my house if preferable. I can travel in London, so don't worry.
- When are you available?
I am available in the evenings, at weekends and during school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels, from beginner to beyond Grade 8.
- What kind of experience do you have?
As a performer I have great experience as an orchestral musician, performing regularly throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. I also give frequent solo and chamber music performances. As a teacher, I have 6 years experience, teaching privately and in schools and music centres.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Not as yet.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained firstly in Ireland, with John Hearne, and thereafter in Scotland with Janet Bloxwich (Principal Bassoon, Scottish Opera) and in London with John Orford (Principal Bassoon, London Sinfonietta), Gareth Newman (London Philharmonic Orchestra) and David Chatterton (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra).
