Being mildly dyslexic and having ADHD, I understand how stressful it can be not to understand simple things. And it is important that you approach the matter in a way that is best for the student not for the teacher or tutor. The way I help your children understand things depend on what is best for them and how they like learning best. As this allows them to enjoy what they are studying more and are not brought down by how they feel.
I can help children with 11+ exams. But I can also help with Primary and Secondary school Maths and English. I teach Economics, History and Religious Studies at Primary school level to A-Level. I also teach British Sign Language (BSL) to all ages.
I have been tutoring for 3 years. I have taught students between the ages of 5 and 9 who were struggling with their Maths and English and therefore did not enjoy the subject. After just being with me for a few weeks they were starting to enjoy the subject. Not because of bribery or by force, but because they finally understood what was going on and they didn't feel stupid or quite far away from the level of their friends. My tutoring led one of those students to win a prize for the best story in his school and another to be in the top set of his year. He has now gone off to an excellent school for Secondary school and wants to study English at university.
I have also tutored children for their 11+/13+ exams. I successfully got one child into one of the top boarding schools in England; The King's School Canterbury.

I have voluntarily coached children in swimming at Chelsea and Westminster Swimming Club. I also help out at Westway in London when they plan activities for primary school children e.g. the tennis festival. I have also done a summer placement at The Lloyd Williamson school, where I worked with young children between the ages of 0 to 13 years old, including those with a disability or an illness. I also have volunteered for a year with the local primary school in Canterbury, helping young pupils with their reading and improving their English.
