I approach each topic by first asking the child what topics they struggle with and give simple questions to build up confidence and once I start seeing flaws I explain where they go wrong. I then set questions at this difficulty and slowly encourage them to start doing harder questions once they get the hang of it. After teaching 3 topics, I set a test on the 4th lesson in which they will show me how much they have learnt and I will sit them down and discuss what mistakes they may have made.
I am an Economics student at the University of Kent in my first year hoping to pass on my skills in Maths and English to younger children hoping to improve academically. I often teach my 10-year-old brother both these subjects and help out with other subjects where I can. He is currently in the top 5 of his class and is doing just as well in year 6.
- Currently working towards an Economics degree
- I have awards in team leading and being nominated for the student of the year at my work placement
