My approach to teaching is very practice oriented. My lessons start with setting up the appropriate scaffolding for a certain topic with the intention of following through with the most effective method of understanding a topic, getting through as many practise questions as possible. Not only does this get you familiar with the type of question you are likely to be asked, but also gets you at ease with the topic.
My typical lesson length is an hour. Although this will change depending on the difficulty of the topic, level of expertise of the learner and the stage in their learning journey. For an effective learning strategy, a clear line of feedback working both ways must exist to maximise the effectiveness of the experience.
I have experience tutoring A-Level Maths and Economics students who were falling behind during their second year. This was a personalised one to one learning journey where we went over topics that these students were personally struggling with. This learner led experience got these students from failing grades in their mocks to significantly better grades in their exams.
My lesson is intended for GCSE Maths, as well as A-Level Maths, Statistics and Economics students.
