My degree has taught me several methods and pedagogies to approach learning so I have devised my own methods, which I apply to my students. I advocate for learning to relate to real life experiences to give it more meaning and relevancy, incorporate visual and auditory learning and differentiate the learning to each individual. I believe a student-centred approach gives the student more power and control with their learning.
I have a strong passion in Education and thus, have graduated with a degree in Education Studies, over 2 years ago. Since then I have been working in primary schools as a higher level teaching assistant and a cover supervisor. During the holidays or weekends, I do some private tutoring, which I have done casually since last year.
If students cancel a lesson with at least a 3 day notice, they will not incur a fee.
However, anything below that will incur a fee of 50% of the lesson cost unless rescheduled for future*.
*Rescheduling must take place at least 24 hours before the initial (cancelled) lesson, otherwise the same fee will apply.
I have recently completed my degree in Education Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University, with the hope of pursuing my dreams in becoming a primary school teacher. I am committed to a life of learning and ready to embark on any challenges with resilience. By having a positive and driven attitude followed by a friendly demeanour, I believe I am an ideal candidate for the teaching role. My desire for working with children has been reinforced by my wealth of experience in schools, providing me with vital insights and knowledge.
Manchester Metropolitan University (Sept 2014-July 2017)
Education Studies (BA Hons)- 2:1
My Education Studies degree takes a close glance at the primary curriculum and the contentions surrounding it. The insights on pedagogy have enlightened me about the student-centred approach, which I greatly value and intend to practice.

Working in a secondary school demonstrates my adaptability to a different age group and has given me the opportunity to practice leadership as I led and initiated two of the mentoring sessions. More importantly, I have grasped an in-depth knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. The use of time management and organisational skills were crucial for the positions, as I had to multitask and was under time constraints.
Hobbies and Interests:
I have a keen interest in creative writing, specifically in poetry where I have posted my work online. My other pastimes include cooking and reading books, which usually consist of fantasy and thriller novels. In my spare time, I have taken upon myself to learn Spanish, which I hope to be fluent in. I also do some casual private tutoring with children aged 5-12.
