If you engage with me as your tutor you can expect an in depth exploration of how you as an individual can learn most effectively and improve your grades.
My students typically raise their grades by 5% and often by 10%
I understand frustration and how disabling some learning environments and course structures can be and I know how to tackle these problems.
I developed my strategies as an undergraduate studying honours psychology. Since then I have earned a Masters in inclusion and diversity, studied online teaching and learning and continued to study a wide range of approaches to teaching and learning for those of us who think differently, particularly for those on the autistic spectrum.
I spent my early working life in primary schools. I believe that simply presenting the curriculum is not enough, if the learner did not learn something then the teacher has not taught it effectively.
I have now spent 10 years tutoring a wide range of different thinkers at university. Here I have learnt how to give the learner back control of their learning journey. The curriculum as presented is often hard to access for a variety of reasons. My job is to unpick those reasons and provide independent strategies the students can use to achieve their potential.
I sometimes say ‘I teach people to learn things I cannot do’ I am not good at maths but I understand the barriers individuals face. and One pharmacy student went from a maths fail to a 78% after a single tutorial.
Some of the things you need may be techniques I have taught many times before and others may be techniques that need to be developed and adapted to your personal needs. Typically I work with students oncwe a week through term time, for younger students I will work in two half hour sessions, one with them and their carer/educator and one with their carer getting feedback and planning the next stage.
For younger students the rate includes half an hour with student and helper, half an hour with helper alone this includes help/ modified activities by text through the week for regular students which are free. Special rates for HANDLE clients. Ask your provider to contact me. (listed on HANDLE website)

Perfect! Thank you so much, Margo. In the short space of one lesson and a brief chat Ryan has progressed from being almost dejected about reading to actively asking me to let him write the names of things in our environment on little cards as we go about our daily activities. You really have a wonderful gift! Thank you so much.
I was delighted by your feedback and look forward to working with you and your son. You have such energy and enthusiasm it is a pleasure to work with you.
Margo was my tutor while I was studying at university, she gave me academic help with my essays. Without Margo I wouldn’t have got my degree. She would listen to me attentively about any issues. Often I struggled with putting my thoughts and ideas to paper and she would help me to write it down on to paper without losing myself within the essay. Margo treats everyone individually based on their needs and helps them have room to grow. I would highly recommend her as without her I wouldn’t have even considered applying to do my masters
IV known Margo a lot of years now we met when I was at university no idea how I would have survived that without Margo. Margo is fantastic in many ways and will do what ever it takes to get you the results you need. A very intelligent woman who is there when ever you need help. In your studies, in your job or in your life she will support you.
Margo has changed my life in many ways, which I am very greatful for.
She was my dyslexia tutor, at University. Margo's support taught me how to retain information when I read.
Also my number bonds were very poor. But her creative tuition did all the magic, in teaching me to learn and become confident.
Margo was my special needs tutor for a couple of years when I was studying. She was always helpful and kind.
In particular She worked hard to discover what techniques would work best for me rather than having a "one approach fits all" attitude.
I started with Margo in my first year,at first i really wasn't sure what a specialist tutor could do for me.
I had only just been diagnosed dyslexic and on an arts degree i didn't do much written work.
What i didn't realise was how valuable having someone to talk through my ideas with and help me organise all the different projects i had to do would be.
I doubt I would be getting the grades I am now without the right support, most of that coming from margo.
I look forward to completing my final year with her support.
Margo always goes above and beyond for her students. She has helped me get through my undergraduate and post graduate degrees and I couldn't have done it without her.
