My QTS students so far have ranged from 18-year-olds to people in their twenties and thirties who have decided to change career. Skills and confidence varied greatly at the beginning but all have gone on to pass the test, benefiting from the strategies offered and building self-confidence through practice and support.
It has been a real pleasure getting to know them and ensuring they can take up their teaching courses.
GCSE students have included the whole range from those targeting A* to those with particular difficulties with English. The work is tailored to ensure students fulfil their individual potential.
Key Stage 2 students have been a joy to teach, gaining confidence through their progress.
Eileen was an excellent choice to help our daughter who had failed the QTS literacy twice. Her support and encouragement was a real inspiration, giving the confidence to tackle this test by focussing on key techniques applied under stressful conditions. Eileen is very professional, experienced and caring, and in a few sessions enabled her to pass the test confidently. We live in London but it was well worth travelling to Eileen's welcoming home to benefit from her expertise. We would highly recommend her.
Eileen was a great choice for me when I decided I needed help with my QTS tests. Trying to study alone, I became frustrated and verged on quitting altogether. Eileen not only gave me guidance in my weaknesses, but also encouragement in my areas of strength, which really built up my confidence which is key. Eileen made me feel very welcome in her home and created a perfect environment for optimal learning. I passed my literacy test first time thanks to her support and guidance. Would highly recommend.
Thank you Thank you Thank you – I cannot thank Eileen enough for her help with my son. Two failed QTS literacy tests were stressing him beyond belief – he had a desire to be a maths teacher and did not realise his old nemesis of literacy would haunt him. After finding Eileen on Tutor Pages, I knew his literacy problems would be solved. She made quick contact with me, then him and from that moment on, he understood and learnt so much. A genuine thanks and a deserved recommendation from the Smith family.
I highly recommend Eileen to anyone taking their literacy skills. I had failed the first attempt by 12 marks and was very nervous that I would never pass. Eileen is very calm and her belief in me made me believe I could do it. She broke the sections down into manageable pieces so they didn't seem so daunting. She then taught me the basics I had been lacking in a way I was able to remember. She was always encouraging and she made me feel confident I could do this. I passed today and cannot thank her enough.
“ I could not have asked for a better tutor than Eileen. She has a lovely manner, which allowed us to create a good bond and as a result I actually looked forward to her English sessions. Eileen understood clearly my problems with English and worked hard to help me overcome them I'd like to recommend Eileen to anyone who needs a tutor for English, as I would not be in my career of teaching without her.”
A big thank you to Eileen, who supported me in my QTS literacy. As a mature student I was slightly apprehensive about contacting a tutor but was immediately put at ease by Eileen. I always felt relaxed and welcome in her home. She broke everything down into sections, making it easier for me to focus and understand the work. Eileen was enthusiastic and encouraging, she identified my strengths and worked on my weaknesses, giving me the confidence to pass my Literacy QTS. I would highly recommend Eileen!
Eileen was definitely the right choice for supporting my son who was on his final attempt of trying to pass QTS Literacy.Having read the testimonials, I felt she was the right person and well worth the long journey from Dorset. We were not disappointed as Eileen is a very caring, experienced professional. My son struggled with punctuation, but with Eileen's confidence-building tips, he successfully passed so can now become a primary teacher.Thank you so much. It would not have happened without you..
After failing my QTS, I had lost confidence in myself. However, Eileen's attention to detail with regards to my SEN and excellent lessons tailored to my weak points allowed me to flourish within a short space of time and pass the second time. I can honestly say my lessons with Eileen made the world of difference. If you are looking for a tutor who is kind, caring, has a passion for not only for her subject but also in supporting her students to achieve their targets and reach their goals, look no further.
A huge thanks to Eileen for helping me pass the QTS literacy test. She provides a home away from home feel, with the environment being practical and comfortable to enable learning. Eileen goes that extra mile, re-capping anything you are unsure of and catering to your pace and learning style, to ensure you have that 'light bulb moment''. My bulb shone during subject and verb matching! I recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who wishes to pass QTS. It was worth me travelling from North London.
Fantastic tutor!! Eileen is knowledgeable and very professional. with excellent teaching styles. She helped our son regain the confidence in English he'd completely lost. He had very low grades (3/4) before we found her only 5 months before the GCSE's. As soon as we met her, we knew we'd found the best teacher! Through her strong encouragement, clear explanations and supporting material, our son actually started to believe “I can do it!", achieving 7 in Lit and 6 in English. So proud and grateful
