- Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently run three open Spanish groups for adults. I also run private groups and individual classes in Spanish.
Examples of people who come to me for Spanish lessons are children; school students wanting help with GCSE or A Level Spanish; people who want to learn a new skill or keep their brain active; people who learnt some Spanish a while ago and want to practise it; people who like to holiday in Spain or hope to retire there, people who have a Spanish speaking partner or who have a child who has a Spanish speaking partner, people who are going travelling around Latin America...
I also teach Creative Piano for Kids .... individual half hour piano lessons teaching children to create their own music from the beginning as well as learning music reading, musicianship and good technique. I am currently teaching piano to pupils from age 5 to adult.
I interviewed Eleanor for a post in my team at the time (BBC Languages) and I was immediately impressed by her near-native command of Spanish, even more so when I found out that she'd learnt the language as an adult. She demonstrated a level of spoken fluency which is usually associated with regularly using the language from childhood.
Eleanor is calm, very intelligent, musically and linguistically gifted, very responsible, sensitive to other people's needs and a very good teacher.
Eleanor really helped me understand the depth of Spanish grammar particularly Indirect and Direct Object Pronouns. Thanks to all her extra support I achieved a grade B in my Spanish A level.
