What can it be more rewarding for somebody who loves and lives for music than to be able to transmit this love?
For us musical education is not about teaching or instructing knowledge, but about stimulating the capacities and qualities of children (or of any human being) and help develop them naturally and correctly to be able to attain the command of this way of expression. Every child has got human capacities that allow him/her to make music, we must only guide them to develop these innate faculties and give the resources that will give to them the freedom of expressing through this fabulous art. The awakening and development of musical capacities like auditory perception, rhythmic sense, melodic sense, tonal sense, motricity... are very useful for the physiological and affective development of the child during the early age, and they will form the bases of a future conscious and intellectual music education which will lead to the domain of musical language (reading, writing and performing).
Initiation 1, Initiation 2, Initiation 3, MUSICIANSHIP - MUSIC THEORY (Ages 6 - adult)
We believe that is very important to be able to understand music from its deepness. Learning theory and harmony (analysis, counterpoint, composition...) helps us enjoy music more, either through playing an instrument or listening to it. Furthermore, these subjects can be taught and explained in a serious but pleasant way: let's be amused by the wonderful world and language of music! We love to express and transmit our knowledge and passion for music to even the younger ones; to give everyone the resources to develop their skills and their love for this precious form of art. We prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity-Guildhall Music Theory Examinations.

- Where do you teach?
Elisabeth is founder and teaches at: BEETHOVEN MUSIC SCHOOL (concealed information)
We are a friendly music school based in Harrow (Greater London). Our aim is to provide a coherent, complete and enjoyable music education to infants, children, youngsters and adults who wish to learn, share and enjoy the beautiful art of music.
Run by Musicians and Music Pedagogues, The Beethoven Music School attempts to fill the gap in a system that is renowned for its excellence in its higher studies. However, an institution that lacks structure in a pre-undergraduate level.
We believe that music has to be experienced in its fullness and through its different elements in order to feel the real power of this wonderful medium of artistic expression. Nowadays, conventional music teaching focuses most of its musical training on Interpretation and Performance. In doing so, it achieves good executors, but not so good musicians.
Music is a medium of expression. It should be primarily used to express, communicate and create. This can be done through a wonderful interpretation of a masterpiece, but it is even more personal and expressive if it is through one's own composition or improvisation. Being a great Creator means using and developing one's imagination, creativity and expression. Three essential elements for any great performance.
In The Beethoven Music School, students receive a music education that contains and develops most of the different fields and elements of music:
* Performance and Interpretation
* History of music
* Composers biographies and repertoire
* Vocal technique
* Ensemble singing
Experiencing the different elements of music gives students a broader, deeper education, a broader, deeper development and consequently, a higher motivation and love for music.
Beethoven Music School is formed by musicians for young musicians, a place to share the love and passion for music!

Elisabeth is a teacher and musician who loves performing, composing and transmitting to others the wonderful world of music.
Born in La Garriga (Barcelona), she started her music education as a child in the music school of her native town. At age fourteen, she was admitted to the prestigious Conservatoire of Music of the Liceu (Barcelona). There, she studied piano with Ma Carmen Cortés, classical singing with Carmen Bustamante and harmony, counterpoint, musicianship, chamber music, history of music and audition with several Professors of the Conservatoire.
After extensive travelling as a teenager to attend music courses and master classes around Europe, (all the while completing her GCSEs and A-levels with an A aggregate), Elisabeth fell in love with the British Capital and its vibrant cultural life in which music is an integral part. In 2005, Elisabeth began lessons at the Royal College of Music, studying under renowned Professor Eidween Harry. She then moved to the Capital the following year. Subsequently, she achieved an Honours Degree in Music from the Royal Holloway University of London, an Honours Degree in Humanities specialising in History, a Diploma in Music (Open) and she also became an Associate of the Trinity College of Music in Vocal Recital (ATCL).
Parallel to her performance and academic studies, her passion for teaching was strong from a tender age and by age twelve, Elisabeth was already assisting teachers at her local music school. At age sixteen, she became a professional teacher in the music school 'El Tram', at the same time that she was accepted as a Teacher's Assistant at the Conservatoire of the Liceu. A year later, she became the youngest teacher in the famous Conservatoire. From there, Elisabeth started to train as a teacher in Spain, France and Italy where she graduated from a three-year training course in Music Pedagogy, in Italy, in Edgar Willem's Pedagogy. She also trained in Jacques Dalcroze's Methodology and knowledge of Kodaly.
She continues her professional development as a teacher, attending regular seminars, courses and workshops. Elisabeth performs regularly in solo and chamber concerts in Spain and the UK; the last of them being a solo recital at the great Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar in Barcelona. She recently won the Leslie Hicks Memorial Cup, the Millicent Ward Rose Bowl Cup, the Premier Vocal Cup and the Sir Landon Vocal Cup, along with other first prizes in Festivals and Competitions.
Her passion for the musical world extends also towards other fields like academic research, composition and conducting. She has participated in several courses on choral conducting with Maestro Manuel Cabero and orchestral conducting with Maestro George Hurst (Canford), Maestros Salvador Mas and Jörg Bierhance (Vienna), Peter Stark and Lev Parikian (London).
After working in music schools and in the Conservatoire in Barcelona, Elisabeth arrived in London and started to work as an external music teacher in schools. However, she soon realised that the quality of education, in terms of time, personal attention and systems wasn't as deep and rounded as she thought it ought to be. Therefore, she set up a private music studio. This has since become known as The Beethoven Music School with the aim of providing a rounded musical education to its students.

Elisabeth and her team at Beethoven Music School provide the most positive and enthusiastic environment in which to learn music skills for life. My daughter has developed her confidence as a musician by taking part in the many activities offered; instrument lessons to group music classes, seasonal concerts, festivals and composition! The energy, passion, thought and commitment the school has in helping young children develop love and understanding of music is such an inspiration.
Thank you to Miss Elisabeth, our 3 daughters are not only pianists but also growing composers.
Many thanks for organising the annual winter and summer concerts , the little musicians always deliver the shows beautifully and they are rewarded multiple times a year as they walk off the stage feeling happy and proud from performing in concerts and festivals. They also have fun with improvisation which often yields to some very creative music! So thank you for growing talent and a great hobby.
Beethoven music school is like no other- the children are taught in an environment that is fun & happy- and learn so much in such little time. my daughter loves all types music and is constantly singing and dancing - I was worried a lesson might make it become more academic then fun but this was not the case- the teachers really feed in the love of music and her love for music has grown! The teachers are kind and professional - I cannot recommend it enough!
