I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher willing to teach all ages and abilities, whether for exam preparation, serious study or pleasure!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the violin, piano and music theory. I am also happy to help with ABRSM exam preparation - both theory exams and preparation for practical exams (aural tests and sight reading)
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Masters degree with Distinction from the Royal College of Music. While I was studying at the RCM (where I also got my Bachelors degree) I won the McKenna Prize for the highest recital mark.
- How much do you charge?
£15 for half an hour, £30 for an hour. Group lessons can be arranged.
- Where do you teach?
I teach in London and am happy to travel to you.
- When are you available?
I currently have availabilities on Weekday mornings and Mondays after school. I also potentially have some room on Tuesday and Wednesday before 5.30pm, depending on travel times.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and abilities.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning to play the violin was the best decision I have ever made - I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience in private tuition between the ages of 4-78, and of chamber group coaching and string ensemble directing. I am happy to teach those wishing to prepare for instrumental exams and auditions, but stress that an all-round musical education is as important as exams!
I play both 'Modern' and Baroque violin, and have performed throughout Europe. As a child I was a member of the National Youth Orchestra and various county youth orchestras.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
My last CRB certificate was issued in August 2011. I haven't been required to get another yet.
