In my lessons I will methodically work through questions from areas of the syllabus that has been missed or there is confusion about the topic. By breaking down questions slowly and logically we can understand which parts are causing difficulties. From here we can work through a series of similar questions slowly to boost both confidence as well as ability. I think it is important that students understand why they are carrying out certain steps within their working and aren’t just learning how to answer questions to pass tests or exams.
I am an enthusiastic student looking to share my knowledge and help younger students. I have completed a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Leeds and am currently studying my masters. I previously went to school in Lincolnshire and studied A-Levels in maths, physics and geography, achieving A, A, B respectively. I have 12 GCSE’s ranging from A*-B in all the core subjects including maths and further maths.
Although I have not got experience directly as a tutor, I have lots of experience working with children, in roles such as a local scout helper and rugby coach. In these positions I have learnt how to effectively communicate with younger people and share my knowledge and experience in a way that they can understand and relate to.
