I teach mainly mathematics to pupils and students until A-levels. I can also help with chemistry and physics as I have studied these topics during all my studies and I am passionate about them!
In my previous and current lessons, I want to first meet the student and a parent to understand what are the needs and the practical expectations (e.g. development of the interest in science, grades improvement, preparation for an exam). I aim to make the student comfortable and work with me without fearing making mistakes and asking questions.
Depending on the student, we usually go through the homework to do, revise for a test and/or practise a chapter with tailored exercises. I am also happy to discuss before/after a session if the student has any stress linked to science learning or school for example. I would like to help more students feel more comfortable with science and studies in general!
Originally from France, I am currently doing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. I gained a first Masters degree in a French Grande Ecole and a one-year Masters at the University of Cambridge. I worked for two years as a research engineer in Cambridge and London before starting my PhD in 2018.
When in France, I used to give private tuition in maths, chemistry and physics for 3 years (2012-2015). I was mainly tutoring one pupil until she got her French Baccalaureate with excellent grades in scientific topics.
In London, I taught maths to a student preparing for his GCSE. I am currently covering for a colleague abroad for two months and teaching maths; the pupil is 12 and studying at the French Lycée Charles de Gaulle.
