My educational background is heavily analytical and mathematics-based. Not just theoretical maths either - applied maths in the real world with real-life applications. I believe that, regardless of what you choose to pursue in life, the ability to be able to problem-solve is highly applicable to all facets of life. Maths and Sciences at school-level is a perfect opportunity to help young people develop this skill.
Because of my academic background, I’ve been able to successfully tutor students in the past - many tutors learn one methodology and can only teach one way. With an engineering background, you need to have outside the box thinking to approach problems which means knowing or figuring out various methodologies to approach a solution. When tutoring children I find it’s essential to know various ways as not every child can understand one method.
Hi! My name is Alisha. At university, I studied Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London (one of the top 10 universities in the world) and graduated with a First Class.
For my A-Levels, I studied Maths (A*), Chemistry (A*), Physics (A). My AS-Levels were Biology (A) and Science in Society (A). For my GCSEs, I achieved 6 A*s (including Maths and all Sciences) and 4 As.
I’ve been tutoring students both Maths and Sciences since I studied GCSEs at age 15. I've also been a tutee myself, so I can truly empathise with my students and I hope to help them achieve their goals.
