My teaching method is flexible to the student, a first session will constitute finding out what works best for you and going from there.
I won't only teach content but I will help to teach you how to study independently and how to work on your executive skills.
Lesson structure will involve introduction to a concept, why it's important and why it's important to learn, and then teaching of the concept, followed by cementing of the concept.
Current Engineering undergraduate in Bristol. Been tutoring science for a short while, looking to tutor much more. I'm a self taught musician, passionate about music, reading and some sports. I have undertaken research and courses in learning methods and how to be efficient in your learning.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
The University of Bristol (2018 – present):
Expected Grade: 2:1
Currently working at a 2:1 level, have received a 2:1 or a high 2:1 or a 1st in all assignments in Second year.
In the first year, I joined Bristol’s ‘Formula Student’ team, an extra-curricular project aimed at designing, building and racing an electric vehicle against other university’s teams. For this I was lathe trained and went on to make the pushrods and rod ends for the vehicle, I found this quite useful as it gave me a new perspective on how things are designed with their manufacturing process in mind.
This was one of the most enjoyable parts of my time in Bristol so far, being part of a cross-disciplinary Engineering team and answering to a team leader. I enjoyed it because it felt much more applied than the theoretical, curriculum-based side of my degree and gave good context to the content I had learnt in
King Edward VI Grammar School, Louth (2011 – 2018):
A-Level (or equivalent): Mathematics – A, Physics – A, Chemistry – B, Further Mathematics – C, Cambridge Pre-U – Distinction 3, Creative Writing (AS) – C
GCSE: 10 GCSEs at A-A* standard including Mathematics and English.
INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES
I have many interests and hobbies, the main few being badminton (and other exercise), reading,
socialising, playing lead guitar, listening to music and my interest in my course at University (Mechanical Engineering).
Being an avid reader and having these other interests helps me to reach a good work/life balance and keeps me educated and interested in other fields and has definitely been a large factor in developing my maturity and confidence.
I also go to the Student Union badminton group once to twice a week and practice my instrument almost daily.
Having these hobbies has taught me how to allocate my time well.
