First, the fundamentals of the topic are explained and written down. A worked example is used for the explation. If the student still does not understand the concept, I would break it down even more. If still he/she does not understand, then we will overview the previous basis of each part of the topic.
After the explanations, we do a practice question together and then the student will do another one on its own. Small assessments are done periodically.
I am an engineering university student that has a passion for maths. No previous teaching experience. However, I got great explanation skills and an 8 for Maths GCSE, and a B for Maths A Levels. Moreover, I'm studying Maths at university, which will widen my mathematical knowledge.
