I am aware that no two children learn in the same way, so I will be receptive to individuals' learning styles and adapt my teaching to suit them. During our first session together, I will open up a dialogue with pupils, discussing what their strengths are and what it is they struggle with, and I will play to their strengths to best help them learn.
As I am young, I am an energetic and fun tutor; I wil connect to my tutees and get to know them well, forming strong working relationships and thus understanding how best to encourage and motivate them.
When teaching French and Spanish, I will try and instil in pupils an all-round knowledge of the language - working on the four core skills of listening, speaking, writing and reading. I think it's particularly important to try and practice speaking in every session, as most British language learners lack confidence and are afraid to make a mistake. I will keep speaking practice light-hearted, fun and non-intimidating!
I graduated from the University of Birmingham last year, with a First in Modern Languages. I am currently working as a support worker for university students with additional needs, and I am keen to take on a new challenge working as a tutor, to further develop my interpersonal skills and help children and young people achieve their full potential.
I have a very high level of spoken and written French and Spanish, having lived and travelled extensively in Spain, Latin America and France. I'm hugely passionate about learning languages and I believe being able to speak another language opens doors, broadens your mind and allows you to experience things from a completely different worldview, something that's particularly important in the current political climate. I am very keen to pass on this attitude to the next generation!
I have an excellent command of the English language as well; I'm particularly good with spelling, grammar, and general writing style. What's more, I am able to explain these things in clear, concise ways, and I will always be patient and encouraging.
I have tutored friends informally in English (as a foreign language), French, and Spanish, and I have realised that I am naturally good at teaching, and I get a lot of joy out of seeing someone understand a concept or get better at something with my help. I want to help young people realise their full potential, improve their confidence and connect to the creativity and joy of speaking French / Spanish.
I have just as much enthusiasm for the English language - I am fascinated by words, knowledgeable about English literature and skilled at analysing written language. I would try and convey this love when tutoring English Literature or Language. Overall, I want to pass on a sense of the fun of language to young people.
I love to travel, and I'm also a musician (I sing and play the violin). I love dancing, cycling, swimming, and yoga.
If you live more than 5 miles away from my home (in Longsight), I ask for travel expenses to be covered. If you're 5 miles away or less, I can get there on my bike!

Hannah taught me English and Spanish when we were living in Mexico in 2018. When I first arrived in Mexico, I spoke enough Spanish to communicate with people, but not enough to understand my uni classes. Also, I had a lot of spare time that I wanted to invest in learning English.
I H.U.G.E.L.Y recommend Hannah. She is kind and patient and she helped me a lot! Not only to develop my language skills, but also to overcome my fear of speaking in another language. She helped me to be more confident in myself, and with her help I made massive improvements. Don't hesitate!
I knew Hannah when she was studying Spanish and French at the University of Birmingham and I was her personal academic tutor. Hannah is an excellent linguist. She is also very easy to talk to, reliable, and hard-working and I would recommend her as a tutor.
