English Literature graduate with a passion for the subject and other keen learners. Ready to now pass on my knowledge to those wishing to progress in their studies.

Methodology

My teaching method differs from each student. It is important to know the strengths and weaknesses of the individual and work from this. Fundamentally it is encouraging the enjoyment of being both concise and creative in the subject to make sure minds are captivated. From this it is then focussing on the development of their expression on paper or in stressful environments.

Background

I have recently graduated from university in Bristol with a 2:1 in English Literature. Prior to this, at school in Oxford and after achieving an A in English A Level, I was trusted to aid younger years with prep for exams through from GCSE to A Level. I have a very sound knowledge of the subject as well as experience in proof reading for the Mirror newspaper so am now prepared to pass on my knowledge to keen learners.

Work Experience

Houses of Parliament July 19th -26th 2014: Research office administration for John Cryer MP, Chair of the parliamentary Labour Party, House of Commons.
With this experience, I was responsible for such things like, attending meetings, researching material and general office duties. I feel this enhanced my social confidence through the variety of people which I came into contact with.

K2 Agency June 2015- Present
Temporary worker at Bicester Village (Retail).
Retail Assistant in various luxury stores: Ralph Lauren, Burberry and Balenciaga. This role involved aiding customers with their decisions in buying products.
I was also responsible for managing the stock and ensuring the stores were appropriately presented. The agency also involved participation in shifts which involved hospitality skills, serving lunch and dinner as well as working behind a bar at places such as the Silverstone racecourses.

The Daily Mirror Aug 8th - 12th 2015
(Media Law department)
Proof reading before publication. This included checking copy for contempt and libel and breach of privacy, enabling a full engagement with the text as well as an understanding of the rights of people before publishing.

NVQ Solutions November 5th - 20th 2015
Office Administration and Marketing.
Experience gained in getting information via telephone interviews and handling data to and from clients, which required a great deal of attention of detail.

Limber Application December 25th 2017- Current
A member of a flexible employment application, which posts upcoming part-time jobs in various locations around Bristol. The phone application meant that I was able to gain valuable skills in bar work, waitressing as well as barista work, working at 5* venues to cafes and festival events.

De Vere Horwood Estate Hotel April 16th - December 2017
Working in a country residence within the Tempus restaurant, serving food from the fast paced kitchen as well as drinks from the bar to customers throughout the day. The menu changed on a daily basis, which meant that critical attention to detail was required when aiding the customers. Working with the hotel also meant that I had to partake in room service on a more personal level and also hosted wedding events whereby I served both food and drinks at.

Refresh West Events- August 2017- January 2019
Bar-work in festivals and events in Bristol. I was selected to work at festival crew parties and day festivals in fast-paced and busy environments. Working behind the till, dealing with transactions and customers on long hour shifts. I feel this role demanded high energy and competent math skills.
Chimp House Bar- September 2017- May 2019.
Part- time bar work whilst at university. Having to cater for various private parties every week, this role taught me to be versatile and adapt to the changing environments each shift demanded. I was trusted by the manager to take on the role of looking after the bar and till at these events, serving hundreds of people on shift. The role taught me how to calmly and confidently deal with stressful situations and to adapt to the varying paces of the job.

Pollen Events- September 10th- Present 2019
I was scouted to promote and sell tickets for events, travel and festivals across the world in order to gain privileges. Able to work more with technology in order to make sales and connect with potential buyers from a range of places. I was able to be tentative and persuasive in order to succeed in selling tickets through communication. This role also urged a sense of organisation in promoting sales before events.

Pulse Films- 22nd July- 28th August 2019
Working with this independent production company provoked my creativity and inspired a number of ideas for contemporary television. Here, I was provided with the opportunity to voice ideas for feature documentaries and short films to valued peers. I was trusted to be included in their various new projects, planning episodic structures as well as aiding the filming of music videos for Ludovico on set. In terms of my writing skills, I was trusted to first proof read scripts in the fiction department and provide a report on its potentiality on screen. Overall this was an exceedingly useful experience which developed many of my social and practical skills.

Skills

- Ability to work as a team member in many different environments as well as collaboratively with colleagues to create positive customer service and energy. This has been acquired whilst working in a variety of shops in Bicester village as well as through the employment app- Limber.

- Excellent time management skills. Consistently on time for various engagements. Time management and organisational skills can also be expressed through my EPQ where deadlines needed to be repeatedly met.

- Writing and analytical skills acquired through experience in the Legal department at the Daily Mirror Newspaper and through studying A Level English and currently English Literature at University

- Leadership skills acquired through being school prefect both at secondary School and sixth form as well as the ability to pick up skills quickly due to the busy and varied aspects of employment I have partaken in.

- Developed research skills though experience in a production company. Researching and analysing data and media to create interesting content.
