I am not a strict or scary tutor!
I like to teach the way I was taught, which helped me to fall in love with English. I teach in a way that helps the student relax (which I find is essential in the student absorbing the information learnt).
First, I meet the student and make sure they are comfortable with me as their tutor, and then we discuss what they are learning in their class at school.
After I have discussed with student I then start to create weekly lesson plans which are tailored to the student's school work and also pinpoint the student's areas of improvement and their strengths.
In being a organised and structured tutor, I manage the student's work and their improvement which I highlight and display to the parent/carer/student. I like to give the student/carer a view into the student's productivity and I have found it produces confidence and pride in the student's work.
i there, I’m Lily.
I am an English Literature graduate from Northumbria University, who focused in Early Modern Literature, Biblical and Classical allusions in Literature and Cultural Heritage. I am now going onto my English Literature Masters degree which I will be studying the Gothic, Early Modern and Modern Literature.
I have also an A level in English Language, in case you or your child needs help with the ‘scientific’ side of English!
I have helped students from 5 years old to 16 years old in my hometown, Cambridge. I am more than happy to help with homework, assignments and just tutoring to help you or your child to achieve what they are capable of.
I am not a strict tutor, I like to teach the way I was taught, which helped me to fall in love with English. I am an encouraging, friendly tutor who loves to see the student gain confidence and succeed.
I can help with the student's homework, help write and plan essays/assignments and if needed, I can make worksheets to help the student. I am a skilled and experienced writer (and reader) so I'm more than happy to proofread and/or edit essays, CVs and personal statements.
I can teach students from primary to A Level, I can help deepen the student's knowledge of the syllabus and make sure they get to a point where they feel confident and able in their position with English.
I have a current year 10 student who, when we first started our lessons, was reaching a grade D/E level. Now, with just under a year with me he is achieving a Grade B (borderline A) - his confidence in English Literature has bloomed and now he is interested in pursuing English Literature at Sixth Form. Immensely proud of my student!
Please message me if you have any questions or any queries!
Please let me know if the lesson is cancelled with at least 24 hours notice, as then I can maybe squeeze another student in for your slot!
