I am an English literature student in London. I got an 8, few marks off a 9 in English literature
Methodology
My method is to understand where the student is struggling and where they stand with English in general. We will read together and I will ask questions along the way, if they understand the work, how the work makes them feel etc. and then finally reviewing the work discussed with them and asking if they still feel unsure about a few things.
Experience
I don't teach English although in secondary school, I offered free sessions with my peers who were not doing as well and were trying to reach better grades. I am also an english mentor in my school currently, helping students feel more comfortable with reading as well as helping them understand their work. I have taught a few however I did not catch up with them after leaving school so I don't know how well they did.
