I personally believe that there is no fixed method for teaching individuals, and so I work best by understanding my student and how they personally work their best. Personally, I work best by watching demonstrations of methods of analysis and writing and then imitating them in my own way, meaning I am likely to set homework to ensure all skills learned are transferable into an assessment-like environment. I also like to use humour in my teaching to engage fully with my students and allow them to feel at ease and less stressed about difficult work. I believe strongly in emphasising the student's strengths, which also creates confidence in the student, which is also an effective skill to transfer into exam conditions.
I am an English Literature Student with experience working in primary schools and preschools alike. I have worked in mentoring children through their English skills for a couple of years now, as English, particularly Romantic Literature is my personal passion. I am in my second year of reading Literature and I am continuing my studies at Master's level specialising in Romantic Literature. I have also worked as a Language Leader, aiding GCSE students in their German skills.
