The first part of my teaching method is to first assess what the learner already knows through constructive questions. Once it the current limit of their understanding is known, I begin to teach the basic concepts of the subject, without overwhelming the learner with too much information at once. Then, over several lessons, I approach the more complex matters. However, while doing this I always take pauses in which I address each student personally to ensure they understand and attend to their personal needs. I also revise previously discussed topics when dealing with something complex which spans several lessons, to ensure all learners are kept up to date.
I am a third-year English student with two years of volunteer classroom experience. I have published multiple short stories and will soon have a Bachelor's Degree in English. I am eager to apply my knowledge and experience to help you gain a solid grasp of your studies so that you can succeed.
I am a third-year student at the University of Sunderland, seeking a challenging and fulfilling position. I am a very energetic, sociable and enthusiastic person, and also excel at time-management and working under pressure.
Social skills- I spent five months volunteering at my local school, from which I have gained a great deal of proficiency in interacting with the public, especially younger people. From this, I learned the importance of simplifying complex concepts for the understanding of the public, how to deal with a wide variety of personalities, and how to react to confrontational occurrences.
Research- Much of my studies have consisted of research work. This has made me adept at filtering through information and statistics in order to find that which is useful, and at finding useful sources of information on topics for which there is scarce information. My hobby of genealogy has also been useful in honing this skill.
Teamwork- I also have much experience in working as part of a group. Through many group debates, reports and presentations I have learned to work in harmony as part of a larger effort, ensuring that not only my own work is done, but often taking on that of others when necessary.
Time management- Being a student while simultaneously a freelance writer and editor, I have become accustomed to managing my time well. As a result, I am proficient in carefully planning ahead for all tasks and using any free time to keep the work up to date. In regard to my career as a writer and editor, customers often demanded very limited time constraints in which to complete the work to a high standard.
I am currently in my third year of studying for a degree in English.
A-level in English Literature at grade B.
AS level in English Literature at grade A.
8 GCSEs graded between A and C, including an A in English, and a B in English Literature.
2019- volunteer position at Monkwearmouth Academy as a classroom-helper.
