I am a Head of English at an outstanding selective secondary school. I'm experienced in teaching English at KS3, KS4 and KS5. Judged 'outstanding' by OFSTED and other external agencies,my lessons are enjoyable, purposeful and challenging.

KS3, GCSE and A Level English, I am also happy to provide tuition/ support for teachers new to the profession.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I gained full Qualified Teacher Status in 2009 and since then have celebrated a successful teaching career- in my NQT year I gained a Specialist Schools and Academies Trust Leadership Award. Soon after, I secured a position as Gifted and Talented Lead Teacher- leading the provision for the most able across schools in Dudley. As a specialist in Gifted and Talented education, my teaching style and delivery means that my students are achieving grades that put them within the top 10% of students in the country.
As a school-based trainer of trainee teachers, I have worked closely with prestigious Initial Teacher Training institutions such as Newman University College and The West Midlands Consortium. As part of this role, I have been responsible for teaching new teachers, offering CPD opportunities for new staff, conducting official observations and mentoring trainee teachers through their first year in teaching. This has been successful, as teachers in my care have often been graded outstanding.
I am also keen to share the secrets for effective teaching with other colleagues and I have contributed to a best-selling Amazon ebook for teachers. I am also a governor for a primary school and I sit on the standards committee.
