I use a range of different teaching methods, depending really on the student and what works for them. It is important that their learning style is being listened to and used if possible. This could be from repetition of practice papers, regular quizzing, modelling of essay writing (looking at good examples), it could be question and answer based, discussion based or multi sensory. There are a wide range of teaching methods and styles that I can use and adapt to.
From being a struggling GCSE Maths student myself (years ago), I learnt that repetition of tasks and memory recall was important for me and that’s something I try to embed in my teaching - something isn’t leant unless it is fully remembered after all.
I have a passion for reading and believe that the key to success in English is to read widely, and I am using this time in Lockdown to develop my own creative writing skills which I’m interested in!
I am an English Teacher of 4 years, working at a high
school in Manchester. I have been a tutor for a year now and have worked with a range of different students. Topics that I can cover: English Language, English Literature, Literacy, Reading and Comprehension, and Vocabulary work for any students in KS3 or KS4. I have more experience teaching the AQA syllabus and was an examiner for AQA last year (2019). I make sure to tailor any of the content I tutor around the school curriculum relevant to you to help you as much as possible.
